MyLifeIsAverage.com (MLIA) is a website dedicated to showing viewers stories which generally are humorous and intended to make the reader laugh.
In order for stories to be put on the website, they must be voted on. Anyone is welcome to read new submissions to MLIA and vote either “average” or “meh.”
Stories with a certain amount of “average” votes get put on the site for everyone to read.
Not many people realize the tough work which goes into creating a MyLifeIsAverage story.
Some students at FAHS would admit to having just an average life. “Boring”, “lame”, and “common” are words used by some to describe life in Fort Atkinson.
Stories on MLIA are meant for everyone who considers their life average to be able to relate to them.
Almost all of the time, the stories will have a twist which will show that even what one perceives as an average life can at times be quite exciting.
Writing a MLIA story seems easy enough. The only thing needed is an average experience.
Junior Emily Straub tells The Signal about her MLIA post.
“My MLIA post was: Today, after running for swim practice, I noticed why I have scratches all over my legs… I KICK myself when I RUN! MLIA,” Straub said. Obviously, not everyone kicks them self when they run, but some people may be able to relate to this. Even if one cannot understand an experience, one may find it humorous.
Straub also admitted her story was not voted average enough by MLIA viewers.
“Posting a MyLifeIsAverage entry was hard because I had to think of something super random. I thought it would be fun to reveal something I did average, because I tend to do crazy things. But I realized my life wasn’t average,” Straub said.
MyLifeIsAverage.com is becoming a hugley popular website. MLIA viewers submit stories daily, and in total the site has over 14 million stories submitted.
